Guest guest
Hello! My twins are only little, so we're not off the bottle yet. But, also has a cleft lip and palate. We're going to probably try to cup feed after the lip repair next week. I've been doing alot of reading and we could either use a paper dixie cup because they are flexible and you can mold them to the child's mouth, or a short, very wide mouth clear plastic cup (the kind that have a " V " shape). I haven't done any practicing yet, but I think it could get kind of messy because he has a strong tongue with some big tongue thrust. I don't know if this would help you at all, but this has worked for very young babies with clefts. Good luck! > From: GVanHouten <rjvh@...> > > Hi everyone, as I was just telling , with my twins turning ONE this > week, our speech therapist is really pushing me and Tara{and too}to > drink out of a straw.
