Guest guest Posted April 28, 2000 Report Share Posted April 28, 2000 Hi, my name is Debbie Drap and I am the mother of 7 year old , 5 1/2 year old , 4 year old and 10 month old fraternal twin boys- and . We got 2 surprises on July 6 1999, the day of my planned c-section. weighed in at a whopping 10 pounds 1 ounce and his brother weighed in at 7 pounds 9 ounces and has Down Syndrome. ' overall health is great. He had a moderate atrial septum defect that closed to within normal range by the time he was three months old. My husband and I are both tall and not small people, so has the advantage of being in the 50th percentile for his height and weight right now for typical kids and 80% for Downs. At their 9 month check up they weighed 25 ()and 20 pounds (). has had digestive problems and hearing difficulties, but I feel we are close to finally diagnosing and managing them. I recently wrote a penpal letter to Twins Magazine looking for other parents of mutiples where one has DS and they just published it in their May/June issue. Katy Touve wrote to me and directed me to your web site. I was thrilled. I knew there were other parents in the same situation out there and I am glad to have finally found them. I have always gotten some of my best info on issues concerning my children from other parents. My husband is in the Air Force and we just moved this past January to Great Falls, Montana.
