Guest guest
Listen, If Bin Laden surrendered tomorrow and the troops were all home by Tuesday, they STILL would not spend the money on autism. If people really want to do something, they find a way to do it. They are coming up with money for the war "emergency style" because that is what they believe is the priority. If Autism was really a priority, they would have poured cash into it as soon as the first '1 in 166' number hit the newspapers, and instead of putting Wakefield, on trial they would putting him on tour and everyone would be trying to replicate his success with autism/GI problems. DAN docs would be doing training seminars at the DOD and medical conferences around the country. Here is another discussion question: When Gerberding said last year (after how many years of hearing us bitch about them ignoring autism) that, "CDC recognizes that parents want answers. We share their frustration at not having more answers about the causes and possible cure", that was the last straw for me. We have all lived through what it looks like for the government to pay lip service to autism, and ignore, and even sabotage the progress in putting the pieces together. For the sake of fun... let's fantasize what it would look like if the government and the medical community actually DID want to know the causes and possible cures of Autism! I think that when I went to my new pediatrician and told him that my son was half way recovered from autism and lost many of his autism symptoms, he would have a special luncheon with all the docs and nurses in his practice and invite me to come and bring Chandler and talk about all the things that we have tried and what worked for him and what didn't. What do you think the world (or your world) would be like? I am gonna blog this... either respond here or at http://adventuresinautism.com Ginger Maurine Meleck wrote: well, in that case I'll discuss. That is the reason we have to have a new president who wants to end the war.
