Guest guest
Hi Beck, Mackenzie is fine, shes on Suprex for 5 days and Macrodantin for 6 mths(antibiotics) to make sure she doesent get a kidney infection. If she has reflux she has to be on meds 3 years. She has a test in three weeks to find out. Its a scan that they catheterise her asleep and put luminous dye in it to see if her kidneys are functioning normal. For anybody who dident know it was E Cloi that caused it. Her fever was 105.3 for 3 days on and off. I had 4 kids all three days she was ill and I was going out of my mind. I was thankful she was admitted because I couldent handle another night with that kind of fever. At first I dident know if it was contagious and I was keeping them all away from Mackenzie. Luckily my 4 year old is a good helper. We are having fun all week. Yesterday we went to the water park, this afternoon were going to Gymnastics. Tommorow were vising 2 differant friends for the day. Thankyou for caring and I hope none of you guys ever have to go through this. Lorraine Sonntag, Madison 4 & Mackenzie 2, Boca Raton FL. > Hey Lorraine how is Miss Mackenzie doing? Guest guest
I'm glad to hear that Mackenzie is doing better. I've been thinking of you and your family. Keep us posted on those test results. Guest guest
Lorraine: Glad to hear Mackenzie is doing better. This is probably a dumb question, but how did she get the Ecoli & what really is it? Abby has tonsilitis + a double ear inf. and her fever has been at 103 on & off for the since Sun. night. She's been up every night, only sleeping in 1/2 periods. I'm exhausted. But she seems fine during the day time, it peaks at night. Glad to hear you were so persistent to get her treated. Guest guest
Beck, do you know about feverall there the same med as Tylonol and it goes up there butts. My kids sleep all night with that even with ear infections. I put one in at 8pm then 12pm and I put the next one in if they wake up or I do after 4am. They are for kids and small. When they dont feel well you dont have to gag them with meds. My kids always throw up with fevers. Lorraine. > > > Hey Lorraine how is Miss Mackenzie doing? And how is Mom holding > in > > there? Guest guest
Hi Lorraine, my son DJ had the same test done to his kidneys when he was 3mo old, this is a very long test (about 3 hours)and you are lucky that she'll be asleep, that was not the case for us and DJ cried constantly because he hated to be on his tummy and he was strapped in that position for about an hour, fortunately he did not have reflux and I hope your baby does not either, good luck to both and glad to hear she is much better Elena Plagiocephaly wrote: > > Hi Beck, > Â Â Â Mackenzie is fine, shes on Suprex for 5 days and Macrodantin for > 6 mths(antibiotics) to make sure she doesent get a kidney infection. > If she has reflux she has to be on meds 3 years. Guest guest
Lorranine, Glad to hear that Mackenzie continues to improve. I'll bet that over time Mackenzie will get used to taking the antibiotic and it will become a part of her routine. (Hopefully anyways!!) I hope you will continue to keep us updated. Guest guest
Beck, The Suprex antibiotic is liquid and I have to force her, but tommorow shes on Macrodantin and its a capsule that I break in half and put in a drink or on her favourite food like icecream. I havent given her it yet but if she can taste it I will mix with water like medicine and force her too. She has to have it at bedtime so it stays in her kidneys longer. When your child could get sick again or loose a kidney you will do anything to stop that. I buy generic accedamenaphen(cant Spell) and they are alot cheaper from the Pharmacy, less than half the price of fevall. I dont use them much now my kids are older except this time with Mackenzie. When they were babies they had fevers every month it seemed. Nice to hear from people who care hope feels better soon. Guest guest
Lorraine, That's great news that Mackenzie is doing well! I know what you mean about the trained eye, its always working overtime! still tilts on occasion too and thankfully he did not experience any delays as well. Great to hear from you and your input is so valuable here- you have the information that the newbies (once us!) are hungry for!! You were a definite help to me in the beginning and I hope you can continue to check in and give your insight and inspiration to others! Take care! Guest guest
Hi and Nicolas,(love the name Nicolas) Mackenzie will be 3 in May, I still read messages but dont post much because I feel those going through it feel much stronger with there replies than me. I'm still a SAHM to Madison who will be 5 in may too. Thank god for the computer, it keeps me interactive with other people in the day. I'm very active in a few communities on MSN and love it, the got me started with all that. Mackenzie plagio is not 100% corrected but only I and the Dr see it. Her tort is also resolved but she only prefers to tilt one side still even though she walks straight etc. The PT said as long as her eyes are straight then its the plagio that makes her look a tad tilted. I wish I never had the trained eye. We never had any develoment delays even though she was born with severe tort and moderate plagio. Shes very beautiful and I enjoy her and try not to dwell on the imperfections. Good luck to you all, this site is great. Lorraine Fl.
