Guest guest
Hi Charlyne, I hear ya, but you just never know like 's case. Ah, not to brag about him because I'm the mom. But, many girls love coming up to him and I thought it was cute that he was always included. Now, that he is older and girls are still wanting to assist. I catch him hypnotized staring at their bottoms when they're not looking. I wonder what goes through his mind? Of course I should be glad that he is thinking like a boy, as some special need kids enjoy just being with the same sex, reason behind it, is because that is what they were exposed to at school, not sexually but accustomed to. At school many other students who are not aware of this type of behavior might take it the wrong way. Then the changes occur with hand shakes and high-fives etc. instead of hugs, of course you know what moms do, like me : ) just give him lots of hugs and watching out for certain types of OCD behavior. Well one of my concerns I kind of dread is when he is at High school next year as it'll be new changes. is still doing great with his toilet training schedule, but it still requires some assistance and reminders, you know what that means someone still having to be with him in the restroom. So I'm preplanning some tours at the high school and a vocational(workshop) right after Thanksgiving. Hopefully this will ease my mind some. had Special Olympics Field and Track & Soccer try outs this past week. I noticed that as I assisted I still saw some behavior issues, like the acting out to avoid of doing something, I'm glad I can observed reasons behind it, now. What a Blessing, of course after when I realized how he went about it. He did his drop flop and boy is he heavy and he would not listen to any of the teachers aide as his teacher had to leave for a last minute meeting. Well, I was not going to lift him, as you know why of my back, but I was able to ask him " , restroom? " Will it had worked and he got up and grabbed my hand to walk across the field to use the restroom. What a stink pot, once he was done with the restroom he went over to a reserved spot that his class had picked to place their lunch and things to rest. Well, he grabbed his backpack and said " mom, home. " He was ready to leave. Of course I tried " lets go run, then home " . He won, as I was not going to struggle. So the next following Special Olympics day with Soccer I decided not to show up or he would probably want to return home. Sorry this is long, yak yak time. Take care. Guest guest
Hi Charlyne, I've reserved a spot, no ands or buts for the conference. The only thing if it does not happen are due to her, mother nature, etc. so keeping my fingers crossed that it'll happen, for now I even have babysitting taken care of, too. Now that I'm involved more than ever and know some key people where attends school. I'm hoping to push sensory integration for and for all in need, as the district never felt there was a need for it. So another battle to persue, LOVE IT! Because they are listening but its just getting the key resources needed. I was told when I just requested for a sensory eval. for . That thanks to the changes and information I've been giving and now with the added label ASD it has open the doors for many. Duh! Gee, why does it take a parent to get people to listen when this has been going on for many years. Wow! Charlyne, you're doing great with your Christmas chore, my time is whenever I get off work early, meetings and just had a Tupperware get-together and my son Roland's 25 th B-day party last weekend. This coming Friday driving out for a quick weekend to see my mom and 2 of my sis which is 155 mi. from San to drop off their gifts. I know I could of mailed them off, but I better visit my mom. Then I have to return early Sat. night as My 15 y/o is practicing with the CCD class for the Holidays this coming Sun. Give Zeb a great big hug on his birthday, may he enjoy his special day. So, You mean to tell me that Zeb is hitting the two digit age " 10 " ? Well, Happy Birthday Zeb! Many hugs & prayers to you and your daughter when the birth of your grandbaby arrives. Congratulations! Well, I've sort of put my washer and dryer on hold for now, as I really would like my Honda mini van. With growing away and the rocking this I better work on. Ok, may Santa also fulfill your wishes, even a box of Calgon in your stocking. Take care, I better finish helping getting dressed for school and then off to work. Guest guest
> > hee,hee > Charlyne > Mom t Zeb 10 DS/OCD ? Ok, on the way to the airport I had to re-program what I had posted to you and thought its more like a night drama. Something like " Touch by an Angel " or something with a show with court issues. : ) Irma
Guest guest
Charlyne, My very good friend who told me about the Shafer report just had her IEP meeting. The school has said they can not meet her son's needs. He is only eight. He has aspergers/adhd/whatever. She very nicely said that she didn't want anyone suing her or the school over behavior issues. Anyways, they have offered her a contract for private schooling. She was thrilled. I just wanted you to know because I do think that what happened to you is scaring the schools into compliance. My husband and I are just shocked that the Judge did not throw this case out by now. It's crazy. Hang in there.
