WOAHH! They charge $39.95 for 45 capsules of DMSA. Chemet is $145 for 30

capsules. I have a hard time believeing it's going to be the same

quality!?!

I got chemet for $5 through prescription? Why is everyone paying so much?-Shari NY

So did I, but our pharmacist was in a panic when we did the test. He had

to ship in an entire bottle for the 2 capsules we needed for the test.

He asked his wife if she knew if we were going to need the rest, it cost

the pharmacy sever hundred dollars to get it in. He was quite relieved

when I took in the prescription for the rest. If you don't have insurance

that will cover it, it costs about $5 for each capsule.

Chemet, compounded DMSA and OTC products like Captomer are all of the

same quality. This kind of wild price difference between brand and

off brand, or US and foreign versions of the same thing that come out

of the same factory is quite common. In fact, this is why an awful

lot of people who don't know anything about the thimerosal controversy

are really mad at the FDA.
