thank you both and sandy,

I have been told to keep a crepe bandage on my hand to try and keep

it clean. It appears i have a hospital acquired infection and we are still

waiting the lab results to see what sort of infection it is.

All i can do is to keep an eye on it and keep it dry and clean and wait

for the antibiotics to kick in.

If it gets any worse I have to present at the local A & E dept.

Cheers,

ette

Hi ette and , Yes,

, our immune systems are compromised and healing is impacted.

As a nurse, I suggest to follow your doc's instructions....I wouldn't

apply steri-strips at this point, as your doc may feel best to let it

heal from the inside out. The body has an amazing capacity to drain out

the infection and fill in the gap. It just might take a

while. You can deal with the scar afterwards. I hope

you heal up well........warm hug to you both.....Sandy

ette, no need to be sorry about headers.

I'm not on methrotresate, but I know you already have a compromise

immune system as is and you should have been on antibiatics after

surgery. Also the stitches were taken out too soon. I had stitches

on a long cut and because of my meds and immune system, they left

them in 21 days. I was also on an antibiatic during the whole time.

It becamed inflamed but that was all. After they removed the stitches

I only had a small amount of spreading and they put sterra strips on

and said to let them fall off on their own.

I have a small scar that is a little larger then a healthy person but

it's not as big as it would have been if they had treated me as if I

didn't have an autoimmune disorder.

Hope you heal up a little better. Maybe buy sterri strips and put

them on yourself while it still is trying to heal. Can't hurt. (make

sure it is clean before doing so.
