Guest guest
Hi Sue Sounds like Zack loves his school! And they love him too! At our last IEP, the teachers all praised Emma for her abilities and the fact that she knows the routine etc. At the time, nothing was too much trouble for them and they were even prepared to help with potty training and making equipment to help Emma with her communication since she is non verbal. This is while the head honcho was sitting opposite. I was THRILLED that they were going that extra mile for us. It hasn't happened yet! I think that a lot of her behaviour, as you say, which seems typical for regular kids, they treat as a problem because she happens to have Ds. How does one get away from this - educate the educated! Thanks for writing! Carolyn Mum to on, , Emma (Ds) 4 and Nicki (Ds)
