Guest guest
Hi Patty; I understand what you are going through and believe me, I am no stranger to RA depression. I know EXACTLY what you're feeling. I've had severe RA for the last four years plus I live in the very sunny and cheery state of Oregon. Between the RA, the rain, cold, many sunless skies and most of all the pain and feeling like I've lost control of my life on many days; I have managed (for the most part) to try to meditate the pain away. My only saving grace is to pamper myself when it is really bad. I have a ME Day. I drink a pot of nice herbal or decaf tea or hot chocolate, take a hot bubble bath and soak, go out to have a manicure and pedicure, read a good book, listen to upbeat music, watch either a comical or romantic movie, take a walk...even if it is a short one and literally, go fly a kite! Swimming is wonderful to chase the blues away and you feel so free. It is the best exercise and blues chaser because there is no weight on the joints and it boosts your energy level. Soaking in a jacuzzi is also wonderful. Try not to let RA get you down or let it win. I do work full time at a medical facility in administration and I am always on my keyboard. I do play harp and piano too. I have been on almost every medication for RA there is. Now I am on Remicaide I.V. fusion. It does help it and I still do get flare ups now and then..like, I have at this very moment. I refuse to let it win or get the best of me. RA pain isnt worth giving up the things I enjoy or hinder my spirit. Life is just too darn SHORT! So, Live Well, Laugh Often and Love Much!
