Guest guest
The biggest problem with most doctors is they don't appreciate Infections nor treat them intelligently.I'm sure they'll give you a box of pill antibiotics and when they fail they'll want some form of surgery to try fix it. \\\ > > About three months ago, my left ring finger started swelling up. Guest guest
All of us who have infections of the jaw bone (chronic osteomyelitis) are struggling with this problem. Dentists don't have a clue. Real Doctors don't like us because they can't amputate our heads. As a result, we are ignored while suffering with many symptoms caused by low grade, chronic infection. Diabetics, on the other hand, often get osteomyelitis of the lower extremities, feet and hips. These they often " cure " with amputation (Hips are usually cured with debridement - aka bone scraping). Of course there are ways to cure without amputation, but it takes a lot of time, money and effort. Culturing of the organisms, debridement, I.V. antibiotics, hyperbaric oxygen, etc. There's even some kind of circulating boot which is proven to help in the cure of foot bone infections, but usually the medical system would rather amputate than go to all the trouble and expense. (this is well documented in the medical literature - cost saving is king) What you need to do is educate yourself fully on " osteomyelitis " as this is apparently what they're saying you've got. If this is the case, then those orthopedists are lying, as they see bone infections in diabetics every day. Don't let them convince you to amputate anything until they've explored debridement of the bone, i.v. antibiotics (based on cultures and sensitivities), hyperbaric oxygen, etc. Please study up so they can't fool you into an easy fix (for them). penny The radiologist said it looked like an > infection in the finger that is affecting the bone.
