Hello!

My AL6 is here and we worked out with it for the first time today.

As usual has managed to present another challenge in the streching

at the end of the tape. I think that's what keeps this so

interesting...just when I meet one goal the man says, " That's

great..now let's work on this.. " .

My question is about the stretching...the " thinking position " and

just keeping the legs that far apart in general.

I can get over a 7' stretch..standing. (I workout on an area rug

that

is 6' wide and my feet go over onto the floor 6 " -8 " beyond that.) My

pelvis isn't that far off of the floor, but for whatever reason I'm

afraid to sit my " bum " down from the stretching position. Worried about

pulling those hamstrings..I guess..even though they are warmed up at

that point in the tape.

When I'm sitting down and try to get the same stretch..it just

doesn't happen. Part of it is because my workout pants are silky and

the legs slide back together on the carpeting...plus I don't have the

weight of my body pushing them apart.

I hope this makes sense to someone out there. For the people that

have gone from the standing stretch to bringing it down on the

butt..how much more pull does that put on the hamstrings? warned

not to sit back on the spine..so maybe butt isn't the right word here.

Anyway..I'm so close..but reluctant to just go for it because I know

how long it would take to recover from a hamstring pull...it happened

to my daughter when she slipped on ice.

The hubby suggested I give it a couple of weeks until I'm more

comfortable trying it..and he is probably right.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

I can't get down to the seated from the standing position either. No

way. I just get down as far as I can while standing, then get myself

up and the sit on the floor and stretch myself into as wide-legged a

position as I can seated.

Don't force it!

;-)
