I was just wondering can we take these while we are on treatment or only when not?

I am getting ready to start treatment again after being clear for over a year, but I remember that my hep doc back then told me that the milk thistle works so well, that he didn't want me to take while on treatment as it would prevent the treatment form helping the liver?

Thanks so much for any time or advice you can give

May God Bless you all

Love, hugs and prayers

Marie

Hi Tim Well what are you taking then? Can you describe what treatment your doc has you on so others may be able to ask for more info? Thanks jaxHillbilly Tim <knoxweb1@...> wrote: i would ask your doc , ive yet to start treatment so ive not had to cross that bridge yet.blessings back to you TravelFind great deals to the top 10 hottest destinations! ,, its always good to check with your doc but that is OLD treatment standard,, the docs USED to tell patients that because the drug companies wanted a clean test,, they didnt want anything else to be in the mix.. and actually Milk Thistle from all that I have read,, cannot make your treatment NOT work,, that is just the docs ignorance about it.. What milk thistle does is to support your liver so it can handle treatment better and keep your liver from getting worse,, its an anti-inflammatory which is what you need.. its the inflammation that causes the damage,, not the viral load or anything else, its the inflammation.. so its very helpful... I started the siliphos bound milk thistle before I started tx and my alt/ast fell by HALF( from 158 to 82) and I continued to take it through out tx PER MY DOC..and I was NOT supposed to even respond to treatment let alone ever reach SVR... but I did both and am now 3 years post tx and still undetectible.. I THANK the Milk

Thistle.. I can't prove it made the difference, but I KNOW IN MY HEART that it did... IF your doc tells you not to take it for the reason you said,, ask him to read more about it and refresh his information as he is not using current info... Best of luck hon jax Davies <davies@...> wrote: I was just wondering can we take these while we are on treatment or only when not?
