Guest guest
Good news. I just finished my final and did better than I <ever> thought I could, or imagined I would. The goal: To make better than a 90 in EMT class. I went in to the final wondering if I could pull off a high 80 on the test. When I got the Scantron back (no hanging chads), I saw something that shocked me. There in the corner, the grade was circled. 100. I am still reeling from the rush. I am the same one that was put on scholastic probation 10 years ago in undergrad studies for reaching a 1.25 GPA. This goal was the top priority goal on my list. And here, after 3 weeks, it is checked off. And I move on to the next ones with deliberate focus... It's not only the title of Bill's book, it's the subtitle: " 12 Weeks to Mental and Physical Strength " . I learned something tonight and it wasn't about EMS, per se, but I actually internalized it for the first time in my life, and now I believe it: " We are all capable of greater things than we realize. " (Norman Peale) Something else he wrote that has stuck with me: " If you want to get somewhere you have to know where you want to go and how to get there. Then never, never, never, never, never give up. " Isn't this the mindset behind Body for Life...figuring out where you want to go and how you're gonna get there? Take care, y'all. And never give up. Jeff I'm desperately trying to figure out why Kamikaze pilots wore helmets.
