I work for a company that administers life and health insurance policies. Our customer service department uses that standard line whenever they verify benefits for an insured. What that means is that even though she verified that you would have benefits for that service it does not guarantee that the claim will be paid once it goes to the insurance company. The insurance company still has the right to deny the claim if they find that it does not meet the criteria for a covered claim under whatever policy provision would cover the band. (probably DME=durable medical equipment) For instance, some policies will cover DME only if they (being the insurance company) deem the treatment to be " medically necessary " . That is where a lot of us get into trouble. I'll keep my fingers crossed that your claim will go through without a glitch, but remember if you are denied you have the right to appeal. I hope this doesn't come off as a gloom and doom post! (sorry if it does) Insurance companies speak their own language and, unfortunately, they like keeping the insureds in the dark for as long as possible. Good luck with the casting and CT will surely give you their expert opinion on Em's condition. Let us know how it goes!! Guest guest
Thank you Marci, I appreciate the info. I bill for insurances and hear that disclaimer all the time, but I've never really understood it...lol. I've printed that off to put in my Plagio file. Kelli ===== Kelli D Kelmi_4@... Guest guest
Hello Everyone, I don't post much but I do read the emails. I have good news. I went to the Doctor last week. I told him that I went off my medication (without him knowing) about 6 months ago. He said I didn't look swolen or anything. He said maybe I am in remission. He had me go for a RF blood test. I got a letter in the mail from him yesterday that said my RF was low and it looks like I am going through partial remission. I am so happy. I do continue to take prednisone. I went down to 6 mg from 7mg this week. I also started eating tart cherries. They are dried tart cherries that I buy from a store called Traider Joes. It's supposed to be a healthy store I think. I just recently started taking them because I heard they were a natural anti-inflamatory. Has anyone heard of this before? I eat 20 of them a day. Donna 35yrs. old.
