School using verbal behavior on Long Island , NY

Does anyone know if there are any services or schools available on

Long Island, NY? We are thinking of moving there from Florida since

all our families are there. We could use some family support right

now. We have been doing verbal behavior with our son for almost a

year now with slow but steady improvement, still no language but he

is trying and has over 50 mands now.

The services and schools available in Florida are few and not very

good. I have heard that NY offers alot of free services which would

be a Godsend to us right now because it is very difficult paying for

all these services. My husband and I rarely see eachother because he

needs to work constantly to try to pay for therapy. We have been

through so much already (infertility, invitro, loss of a child) I

would hate to see our marriage fall apart because of this. Autism is

hard enough and stressful enough to deal with without having the

extra finicial burden added to it.
