Guest guest
Hi Kim, I dont know if you can call my son high-functioning. He was very apraxic, started speaking 6 months ago, and would only speak single and one syllable words. Prior to Valtrex there was little socialization and poor eye contact. My doctor wants us to do the challenge test 10 days from now but wants to stop valtrex. I am not comfortable taking out valtrex this early and that is why I need an opinion on whether I should push through with this. Did he speak, socialize and have eye contact before starting? You mentioned a DMSA challenge - are you chelating with the valtrex? Sorry for all the questions! Kim :-) Valtrex - miracle pill Hi Stan!We are on our 20th day of Valtrex and this seems to be our miracle pill. This week, my 3.5 year old son's language skills have exploded. __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Thanks Pam for the post! So you haven't started chelating yet? I think I've read some previous posts on here of kids who were (are) chelating AND taking valtrex. Maybe someone will chime in to answer your question. I would be leary of removing the valtrex from his treatment if he is responding so well. Kim :-) Re: Valtrex - Kim Hi Kim, I dont know if you can call my son high-functioning. Guest guest
I don't understand why he would want to take out Valtrex for the challenge test. I would be very careful about stopping something that is working so well. The more I think about it, the more I'm concerned. - Stan > Hi Pam; > > So good to hear your son is responding to valtrex - and so quickly. > > Was your son high functioning before valtrex?
