Hi ,

Could you provide a little more

information? I’d like to know where you are located – UK/USA/somewhere

else? I’d also like to know what sort of question you would like to try

to answer? Is it an open ended question which is fairly broad like ‘How

do I help my child cope with change?’ or is it a specific area/topic you

want to receive – like ‘Questions on behaviour?’ or ‘When

we enter a supermarket she becomes difficult to manage, this doesn’t

happen in other shops – how do I make this behaviour less challenging?

I hope I’ve explained what I mean.

Which publisher are you working with?

Regards

Autism and Aspergers Treatment

Subject: Help

with a Book on Aspergers Children

Hello - I was wondering if any parents out

there could help me. I work as a social worker and am currently writing a book

with a psychologist all about children with Aspergers. In particular we are

looking at tips and techniques for coping with a variety of behaviours

that Aspergers children may display. If you have a question that you would like

answered about your child with Aspergers plesae email me at jhillage@...

We will then try to answer it in the book and send you a free copy of the book

when it's completed. Thanks for your time. Hillage

This does sound interesting. What is the time frame for the book to be published and who is the publisher? Is there a website to direct interested people and a format to use for questions for submission? Also - would I be able to post something about this on my site, if the timeframe is adequate? http://autismspectrumdisorders.bellaonline.com Bonnie Sayers ============= M Hunter <nancyhunter@...> wrote: Hi , Could you provide a little more information? What comes to my mind first is what can you do to help a child with

Asperger in a daycare/summer camp setting with normal typical children

in regards to their behavior and others misunderstanding the child

with aspergers? My son has gotten kicked out of 2 different

programs. Part of the problem is that the normal typical children

make fun of him, the couselors don't see this, and then say it is our

son that is the problem. We know this has happened as we have

observed it and watched how the staff handled or not handled the

situation. We also had this same thing happen with our older son who

is ADHD. THe other kids pick and tease and when the child has enough

and trys to stop it (sometimes not in the right way) they are the

ones to get into trouble. The kids who started it get away with it

and keep on doing things to the other child. It is even harder when

the child is Aspergers and only sees things black and white. How can

you help the child with Aspergers in these situations? What can you

teach the child to do? Telling the child to tell the adult in charge

does not always work. Any input with this would be appriciated.

Thanks everyone for the replies and input. I will try to reply to

all the posts:

- I am based in the UK.I am looking to compile a book with

answers to specific questions as I want it to be a practical " how

to " guide. But general questions are also fine - I just think that

they may be more tough to give a helpful response to.As every child

and situation is obviously unique. The book will be self-published

and I am looking at several ways to do this.

Bonnie - I will be getting a website and will definetely contact you

nearer the time re. your own site (hopefully 1-2 months).

Jerri - Great question and one that is relevant to kids at school,

camp and all kinds of settings. I will definetely look to include

this in my book and provide you with some great ideas.

Thanks
