,

I find that stress causes flares with me. I think it was stress that

brought about the onset of RA for me. I try as hard as I can to

minimize the stress in my life. I shrug off anything that I can and

try not to let things get to me.

I don't even argue with my wife anymore!! I get in the last

word, " yes dear " . Really though, I quit arguing about most

everything as it is not worth it.

Best of luck,

Jay

Hello everyone. I haven't been around to talk on line or post. I

haven't had much time to do much of anything. I have been in a lot

of pain and about 3 weeks ago I fell off a chair I was standing on to

get bird feeders down. I still have a lot of pain from that and the

worst part is that I injured my neck again. Just finished P.T. too.

Now back at P.T. I have had a headache that never goes away. The

doctors don't understand where it is coming from.

With all that going on I am still having to help out my youngest son

with all the trouble his EX-wife is putting him through. Seems she

took his cell phone when she took his truck and he didn't realise it

until he had his other one turned off and was going to use the one

she took. Well, guess what. She put over $$ 1,489.00 worth of

calls, and yes that is over a thousand dollars. He talked to legal

council. He can't do anything but pay it

himself. He's only a Specialist in the Army so he doesn't make much.

With all that added stress and the pain I still feel, none of the

meds for the RA are even helping.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to relax enough to lower my

blood pressure and help ease some of the physical pain.

I'm desperate!! Can't live like this. It's causing uneasy feelings of

just surviving.......

Jay, My husband and I don't fight. If there is a problem he does just

as you do and comes back later and just talk about what silly stuff

we were talking about. There is no problem with that. I just wish I

could shrug off the stress that I am having right now but my son's EX

is taking him to the cleaners. I know I shouldn't take his life on

as my problem but he is in NC and she is 2 miles away from my house

and I have day to day trouble from her.

As for the pain, I wake up and can hardly move. I am having my

husband type this as I say it because to type hurts. He just said I

need to take care of me and let him fall on his face. If he gets up

great, if not, life goes on. (she's making me write every word she

says).

She has to go now. She has appt. for Remecade infusion.

My husband helps me. Plus I have grips to cling too. It's a big whirlpool

tub.

But how do you get in and out of the tub?

My hubby too. He always did the cooking, cleaning, vacuuming, all

the laundry and outsdie work. Now that he's deployed, I am at a

loss. I have hired people to help but it is costing so much and we

just don't make enough for me to pay for all the stuff he used to do

for me.

bath?? There is no way I could get in there unless I fell. And in

that case, I wouldn't be able to get out. I guess warm showers will

have to do. :-)

, Medical supply stores have bath benches that can be lowered so you can at least partially soak in a tub. It might an idea that would to help you to be able to get in and out of a bathtub along with mounted grips. Hope that might be an option for you. If not, soaking feet in the warm water or purchasing a paraffin (wax) unit for dipping hands might feel good too. I bought mine at Target. Just some ideas that may help you.......Take care!

I agree, take some nice bath salts, or a sea salt scrub and make a point to take

a nice hot bath every night. I read an article that when we are stressed and our

muscles get tense they hold in toxins and make us have more pain. Try to relax

and you will feel better. You might want to try a relaxation supplement like a

high quality Kava Kava and some chamomile tea.
