Stan - How long to take Valtrex?

I'll try posting this again:

My son has been taking Valtrex since 11-16-05. He's 15 y.o. and 140

lbs. He's been taking 500mg three times a day. When he started

taking it, he broke out badly several tims on his face and nose with a

shingles-like rash. (In the past he's had shingles, a plantar's wart,

Roseola and an MMR in error at 7 mo. of age.)

He hasn't had any breakout's recently. Has Valtrex done it's job? Is

it time to stop? How long do our kids typically stay on Valtrex?

Hi Lila,

We stayed on Valtrex fo 9 months with nice gains along the way. His

rash stopped at day 20. I would keep going if you are seeing gains

from it.
