Guest guest
My daughter has been at 1/2 dose Valtrex (250 mg 2x/day) for about two weeks. We now want to slowly work her up to full dose of 1000 mg/day. I have read here that it is better to take the Vlatrex three tiems ad ay rather than tow. SO here's my silly question. The tables are 500 mg each. My pill slitter will split them into halves, but not thirds. If parents are diving 100 mg into three equal portions, how are you doing it? I can't easily split the tables into 2/3. Or are you giving 500 mg in one dos enad two doses of 250 mg? P.S. My daughter has a regression durign the two weeks we tried acylcovir (very similar to what Tracey reported in her son--lethargy, low appetite, hand in mouth, hard to transition, spacey). She has been doing much better sicne we swithed to Valtrex, although her appetite is still low. No fever yet, and no great gains either (gains are hard to see in her however, as she is already very high functioning). She is playing better than ever with her baby sister. WE're curious to see what happens when we go up to full dose.

So I'm cutting the caps into thirds (they split really easily with a knife) and putting the chunks in empty capsules because my son says they taste terrible. Guest guest
, I don't see anything about an antifungal onboard... also how is the diet? - Stan > > My daughter has been at 1/2 dose Valtrex (250 mg 2x/day) for about > two weeks. It's not clear yet whether my son is responding or not -- if something is happening, it's subtle. Nell
