Guest guest
We have found that we do best on small amounts of zinc throughout the day, although now my son barely needs zinc supplementation. However, I have to second the comment about taurine in the AM. It is definitely an AM supplement for us and acts like an energy booster. We received the same advice from two DANs -- taurine first thing in the AM. When my son needed more zinc, we gave the zinc together with the taurine in the AM and just zinc in the PM. We could not do zinc on an empty stomach (ideal) because he could not keep it down -- neither could I for that matter. BTW OT, but I found out at a DAN conference that the white spots on my finger nails (there for my entire life) were not bueaty marks like my mother and doctor told me. Guess what? Zinc deficiency. I tried many kinds but only the zinc monomethionine made the white spots go away. If I stop the zinc, the white spots come back. Just rhought I would throw that out there in case there are any other parents with chronic low zinc. I hope so as to not have to move the Zinc, Taurine will be an exception to the rule, if not we could move it to first thing in the morning maybe, but then we may need to shuffle his Nasal MB12 Spray to noon. Hopefully that won't be late enough to cause sleep issues there, this is always so complicated. When is folic acid best to be given? Sorry that was off my original question, never mind for now.
