prednisone induced diabetes

I was just wondering if anyone else has high blood sugar due to prolonged prednisone use. My doctor said my numbers were high again. I offered to cut out the sugar (as I sit here with a small bowl of sherbet) to see if that made a difference. Does anyone else suffer from this? I've been on prednisone for over two years now from doses as high as 60 mg to my present 2mg/day. Mainly in the past year and a half, it's been a slow taper from 10 mg.
