Guest guest
Hi everyone, My daughter was on Valtrex for 58 days and we didn't really see any gains or regression, only one small pimply bump on her cheek for about 2 weeks. We stopped all supplements, Valtrex and Actos on 6/25/06 because of her chronic diarrhea (10-12 a day), we wanted to rule out any supplements or anything that could be causing it. We added Valtrex back in on 7/3/06, along with Nystatin (we're getting Diflucan at her next appt.) and Probiotics. Last night, I changed her diaper and there is a rash starting on her bottom and going down the back of her thighs. They are very raised but not red like a diaper rash. She has had numerous diaper rashes throughout the years but i've never seen anything like this before. I just changed her diaper today and the rash has grown even further. She has definitely regressed and is back in her own little world. Is it possible that some of the supplements she was on the first time we tried Valtrex was counteracting something? The first time we tried, I kept waiting for the regression and the rashes and they never came. Now that it's happening, well, I guess I wasn't prepared for it because it didn't happen the first time! Is there anything I should be doing for the rash outbreak or do I just let it take it's course??? She also had a high fever on the 4th of July - she was having fun playing outside in the water and all of the sudden she started crying and took me by the hand to take her in the house. She stayed in the house the rest of the day and just layed on the floor watching movies (very unusual for her because she NEVER sits still) and she was burning up. I gave her Motrin throughout the day and the fever broke the next afternoon. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I guess I'm just nervous because I've never seen anything like this before. Thanks,
