Guest guest
Morning, well it's after midnight, close enough. When I saw my Rheumy and he put me on ultram he also had me referred to a Neuro./ Pain managemnet and now I know what the severe pain in my neck is. Well it's what he said it is but I don't know much about it, yet! Fecet dysfunction of the C4-5,C5-6 and C6-7 joints. Then I also have it in the L3-4 and L4-5 or something along that line. I guess I don't know enough about the spine to identify the areas yet. I just know that it is worse now then a year ago when I went to him for my lower back. He sent a report to the military doc of his findings from my last visit with him but for some reason, it went in one ear and out the other. What the Doc said just made my day. Seems the military docs and radiologist have been writing that there isn't anything wrong with my spine. OOP!!! MRI says otherwise. Without proper treatment over this time I have caused some serious problems and am now going to have to start steroid shots?? in those two areas. I have to go in for another CT and this time he wants the films sent to a radiologist downtown. I thought it was funny what he said though. Quote " I don't mean to sound condescending but they don't know what they are talking about!! " unquote. So, anyone know what it's like having shots like that?? Do they hurt?? Do they help?? Guest guest
Ahh neck pain!!! I suffered with neck pain for at least 4 months when I started Sprycel. I thought it would never go away. What I did was use one of those neck things filled with rice or something that you stick in the microwave and put it around my neck.. But I had a hard time sleeping and would wake every morning with it stiff. But guess what???? It finally went away. Another thing you mentioned was very familiar. The last three times I had blood drawn it hurt really really bad.a real bad sting the whole time they are drawing. The last time I asked the tech and she said " oh the alcohol probably had not all evaporated from the swab I did on the spot " I said to myself " no that was not it " But the neck rash I never had. Many others but not that. Most of the time I feel good but today really run down. We'll see what the lab results are. This was weird also- the blood draw really hurt today. It is the same guy- maybe he was off his game. It's weird since starting gleevec I haven't had a cold. Lots of aches and pain but no colds. Probably the virus can't survive the chemo.I feel fortunate as I am still working and training for the walking marathons. But today I am soooo tired. Guest guest
Hey Group. . . I am totally confused now, all the talk about MRSA! In 2005 I had to have one joint of my pinkie amputated because an ER Student/Doctor lanced the finger after the anchor from previous surgery proved faulty. The OrthoSurgeon said that I had developed a 'Staph' infection; I know that I got the infection from the hospital. Thinking back, I realized that shortly afterwards, my ENT Specialist & Dermatologist both gave me shampoo's/ointments/medications for flaking scalp/nasal passage/rash on neck/inner ear etc.Now I think I may have been carrying MRSA since the STAPH infection??? Having an HMO, I know that its more than possible? The Doctors would have treated me and not given me information. I had the feeling that they are 'Herpes' forms of infections; because though they go away. . .they always return. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Take care, I have ALL in my prayers. . . " K " " K " " I AIN'T FINISHED YET " !!!
Guest guest
Hey K , About 5 years ago I had a dr give me meds for herpes and I took them until I realized this did not help ( even though I really didn't think it was herpes) and just recently I learned it was a staph infection I had too! Imagine that.he didn't even take any test that would confirm that it was herpes; he just assumed or took a l lucky guess just based off of what I told him??? ez
