Guest guest
Thanks for the explanation phine. I have resisted taking these drugs for about 9 years thus far. I've seen several different cardiologists in the hopes that one will be a progressive thinker. Didn't happen. My experience with both Niacin and Red Yeast Rice resulted in severe gastro-intestinal problems that precluded me from taking them again. It makes me wonder what taking a control dose statin will do. Has anyone heard of the VAP test? I had it done and it was determined that I have the "large LDL particles", which I believe "clot" less that the smaller ones. However, after the results of the whole test coupled with the normal cholesterol profile, it raised my total choelsterol another 100 plus points!! I think it adds in other possible risk factors. You know dropping dead of a heart attack is better way to go than most, but a dibilitating stroke on the other hand could really suck. I wish I really knew whether I was playing Russian Roulette with this whole thing or not. D From: jlkinkona <josephine@...>Subject: Re: Side effects? for Lipitor Date: Sunday, June 29, 2008, 8:52 AM Statins1) activate the atrogin-1 gene that destroys muscles. The heart is amuscle too along with all the other muscles that help you walk, swallow, breathe, etc.2) deplete the heart of CoQ10. The heart uses huge amounts of CoQ10and when it doesn't have enough, it goes into heart failure,3) depletes the brain of huge amounts of cholesterol and when thebrain doesn't have enough cholesterol, you can suffer from DEPRESSION,INSOMNIA, NIGHTMARES, AMNESIA, MEMORY LOSS, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES,ALZHEIMER'S, PARKINSON'S, etc.,4) lowers the immune system which causes cancer,5) cause muscle weakness and pain which is a COMMON SIDE EFFECT,6) causes respiratory problems like pneumoniaStatins are a derivative of red yeast rice WHICH IS A POISON. Soessentially STATINS ARE A SLOW KILLING POISON. As Steve has said before, for every life saved from not dying of aheart attack, statins KILL the same amount of people from OTHER CAUSESthus proving that THERE IS NO BENEFIT FROM TAKING STATINS!!!ALSO studies show that WOMEN DO NOT BENEFIT FROM TAKING STATINS!!Statins are a 20 billion dollar industry for the drug companies. Thedrug companies are in the medical schools brainwashing our doctors andpublishing biased clinical studies and reports that doctors rely onto treat us. We can no longer totally trust the medical establishmentand our own doctors to care for our HEALTH especially when it comes todrugs. phine>> Hi all,> It´s been a while since I posted on this board. I have somequestions. Last July I was put on 10 mg of Lipitor daily, my totalChol was 203( I quit taking it after one box). I cannot recall my HDLor LDL, but it was just numbers off if any. I have hypoglycemia andsee my Endo a few times a year. Last year I started to feel a suddennumbness in right leg above my knee, it would come and go. I went ona trip in May and walked a lot for 3 weeks, and I noticed my right legbecame more numb and would start to feel a burning sensation thereafter all the walking. While resting, it got much better and most ofthe time went away. Well, I thought right away it was PAD. 3 weeksago I saw my Endo, and he had me take lab tests. my Glucose was fine=71, my Total Chol was 196, my HDL and LDL were Ok, one was a littleworse than the other but it was no big deal. He out me on 20 Mg's ofLipitor a day, and it scares me. I am taking again Omega #, 3 times a> day, 3,000 Mg's of Vitamin C , coQ10= 120 Mg's a day, Vitamin Bcomplex 3 times a day and one aspirin a day. Since being home now foralmost 3 weeks my leg feels better, but I am not walking that mucheither. I wanted to ask if Lipitor can cause depression? I reallyhave never had depression before starting to take this Statin. Oh, theDr also out me on Doxium 500 mg 2 times a day for blood circulation.I am a female and 49 years old.> Thanks,> >
