Guest guest
Hello, It is now just over 6 months since my stroke and I have improved so much, apart from some memory problems and half the sight in my right eye missing, things are a lot better. I have taken on board all the recommendations from this group with regards to Co Q 10 and other supplements and now I want to ask about the remaining drugs I am taking. I have just read Barry Groves new book in which he says Aspirin is a waste of time, and I know that someone on this group stopped taking everything prescribed around the time I joined, should I just stop taking these. The other drugs I'm taking are Ramipril 2.5mg once a day and Persantin Retard 200mg twice a day. Many thanks, e UK
Guest guest
Hi e It was me that stopped all drugs 6 months ago, however that was my choice and I wouldn't recommend anyone to stop taking all their meds as that would be irresponsible of me.On the other hand, everyone should stop taking their STATINS as they are a poison. Like you, I am left with memory/cognitive problems. Most other things are much improved including the hypertension - which I do not take any medication for. Guest guest
Hi Pamela, I did have an idea it was you who stopped all your drugs, I was so impressed. The last time I had my blood pressure checked it was normal, but of course this was due to the drugs, I have had blood pressure problems for years and was put on drugs by the cardiologist which I just couldn't get on with so I just stopped taking anything. He would always tell me to lose weight and I do still need to lose a couple of stones, it's coming off very slowly, don't want it going too fast and ending up looking like saggy baggy elephant! I can't really discuss this with my GP as she was very upset when I told her I'd stopped taking the statins, and in any case, I never get to see the same doctor twice these days, it is hard to build up any kind of relationship.
