As I dig deeper and deeper into my research on various populations,

their diets, rates of heart disease and lipids levels, any corelation

between total cholesterol and cardiovascular disease quickly fades away.

I begin to view the lipitor drug rep in the same light as the snake oil

salesman of the 1800's, traveling by wagon from town to town selling

his potion promising health to the buyer. By the time the towns people

figure out they have been taken, the snake oil salesman has left in the

night, with all their money.

Populations who enjoy low rates of cardiovascular disease do not take

lipitor, or toxic doses of niacin, or any pill to acheive these low

rates of heart disease. So why do we?

Instead, they work the land and grow their own organic vegetables. They

raise free roaming grass fed animals, and hunt or catch wild game, and

gather wild berries and nuts. They are physically active in their

lifestyle, for if they don't hunt and gather, they don't eat.

Heart disease is a problem in developed Nations. When modern lifestyles

penetrate these scocieties with low Cardiovascular disease, low

diabetes and low cancer, rates of these diseases escalates. We bring

them white flour, processed sugar, processed meat in cans. We bring

them motorized transportation so they can now hunt from the snowmobile,

jeep, or 4 wheeler.

No longer do they have to run to get their game. It now comes in a bag

with hormones and chemical additives. No longer do they have to garden

because it too is available in the store, raised in a field sprayed by

a crop duster plane with commercial fertilizers and pesticides.

Along with the crop duster, snowmobile, and 4 wheeler comes emmisions.

You can't see them, but they are in the air and they breath it.

Now those populations who once knew little to no cardiovascular disease

now join us with all the same health problems, including diabetes.

There is no magic pill to ward off heart disease. And there probably

never will be. Tell the lipitor salesman to take a hike. And while your

at it, start walking yourself. Its one of the best things you can do.

Just my opinion.
