Dr Richman of WebMD writes blogs sweeping some of the side effects from

statins under the rug. He voices his frustration over reports of memory

loss with statins and dismisses them. In the same blog he clearly

states " that there is no evidence linking statins with neuropathy. "

I made a comment in the comment section of the article. I can't believe

I did this! I told him his statement was 100% false, and referred to

case history in PubMed and neurology journals. I then scolded this guy,

referring to him as " young man " and told him that if he worked for me,

I would have to let him go.

Geez! This guy is boldly lying to the public! Somebody has to stop the

deception. There are innocent people being taken advantage of by this

guy.

Somebody should investigate his connection to the Statin Pharmas, probably on

the payroll.

While he may be an idiot, he has the ear of the public who (up until

now) will have had no contact with the issues concerning cholesterol

and statin therapy. You wont educate the wilfully stupid and if

Richman falls into that category, it is a waste of time trying. In my

experience, such sites are funded by the statin makers and the heavily

moderated forums are there for the purpose of trashing anything which

is not in tune with the party line. In the UK, Patient UK was just

such a site. I answered a genuine question from a patient, in as a

neutral a manner as possible and it got quite a few replies. The

moderator wrote to each of the respondents individually, in an effort

to belittle me personally and my point of view.

I think responses to such sites only have the single purpose of

letting normal people know that there is a body of medical opinion and

many thousands of patients, who would disagree with the views espoused

by the aptly named Richman. Leave links to Fran's SOS site, Spacedoc,

TL & HI, THINCS and my own e-petition and don't stay to argue with

people who don't want to listen. In this way, you can give ordinary

people an opportunity to find the resources for themselves and they do

not have to tolerate the interference that goes with turf of trying to

get information that is unbiased, from the likes of the WebMD site.

Regards to all.

Jeff

p.s. Nice to have you back, Ed.

I agree totally Jeff, I have posted on saga Forum constantly, and in

the end I just place links to other sites that you have stated. You

can lead a horse to water!!!! And I truly think that if you were okay

with a drug - why would you be seeking out a website, suely you would

get on with your life, how many sites are there promoting aspirin? ---

it beggars belief. Pamela

Richman is an idiot... I read his postings and he is an idiot.

Since I had my stoke I doubled my use of SERREPEPTASE & COQ10 and I

think this has helped with the healing and the spread of oxygen

throughout my brain and has improved my healing.

The drs are amazed how fast I am heeling.

Oh yes, I'm betting this guy isn't donating his time for free to host

this message board and write these pro-statin blogs. Bobby

Thanks for posting on Richman's site. I think the site is nothing but

a big billboard for the promotion of statin drugs. Its desguised as

an educational forum, but really its an advertisement. Lets bring in

the truth.
