Guest guest
So I have not even had time to read all of this or the links, but here you go. http://products.mercola.com/coq10-ubiquinol/?source=nl He calls coq10 the most important substance every cell in your body needs, and that statin use lowers its levels. Many people still think Mercola is a quack but major newsweeklies are quoting him. Kip
Guest guest
I found dosage levels are important… I quit statins about a year ago (Lovastatin in my case) and was doing 1000mg CoQ10 for awhile as part of the recovery process. My physical symptoms (numbness in my hands and arms, almost crippling knee “sprains” etc). went away so I cut back to 200mg “maintenance”… While my physical symptoms didn’t return, I felt a decline in mental acuity so I’ve gone back to 800mg a day and noticed the mental sharpness returned. I do tech support so “brain power” counts . I have no way to test the change but seem to have much better short-term memory and analytical skills. My father , who had also been on statins for some years because of the hereditary high blood pressure that runs in my family, died last year of undiagnosed hydrocephalus. He was a rocket scientist with NASA and the last decade of his life presented with Alzheimer-like symptoms. Guest guest
Well actually for “cholesterol” which “causes high blood pressure” the usual bullshit model which has more to do with profits than physical reality. (They also had him on diuretics which gave him the gout BTW) Now I wonder if some of the” gout” symptoms weren’t actually statin-related. I’m not sure how long he was taking statins. At least for a decade I suspect. ~BB From: Lipitor [mailto:Lipitor ] On Behalf Of Ed Gundy Sent: Wednesday, June 18, 2008 8:19 PM Lipitor Subject: Re: Mercola.com comes out with big news re CoQ10 Brett...how long was your dad taking statins? Kip Kip, I went to Mercola's clinic, as I live close by, on the advice of a dear friend who swears by him and his ideas, which greatly benefited her chronic back pain problem. I met with the man himself for the best part of an hour and was very, very impressed with him and with the subsequent treatments I received from his staff, as odd as some of those treatments appeared. I have subscribed to his newsletter and read his book. I respect him a great deal. I think it is the big pharma-doctor alliance that more closely meet the definition of quack. Guest guest
Keep in mind that these same folks that consider Mercola sort of "Unusual" in his approach, are the same ones that labeled Drs.McDougall and Ornish, as being out in left field because of their approach to preventative and treatment of heart disease. Dr.Ornish, is also pioneering a low fat approach to battling prostate cancer and still some of the "Know it alls" are questioning that. -Spring,Texas ============================================================== So I have not even had time to read all of this or thelinks, but here you go. http://products. mercola.com/ coq10-ubiquinol/ ?source=nl He calls coq10 the most important substance every cell inyour body needs, and that statin use lowers its levels.
