Guest guest
RE: Lack of ethical conduct by the pharmaceutical industry. In this story, the Emperor is the pharmaceutical industry. Most (but thankfully not all) of the media is pooh poohing the news on the statin (Paxil, or fill in the blank) is because they want the money they get to show ads. Money. It's the same reason why all of the drug companies cover up their negative research. Money. The same reason why some doctors and psychiatrists now invent different diseases so a drug company can create a new pill. Money. The same reason why politicians don't get involved because of the donations they get from the drug companies. Money. The same reason why drug companies give doctors bonuses for prescribing their pills. In a word- yupp- money. I sincerely hope that some day the public realizes that the Emperor isn't wearing any clothes. My mother's life was ruined by a doctor that insisted she stay on Lipitor for years, even after she complained to him about many of the current side effects. After I did some research on this drug, I told her to stop taking it immediately. It was too late. She now has chronic muscle weakness, memory problems, heel spurs and hand tremors. This once vibrant woman now has to go to weekly pain management doctors and even now has problems with her immune system. Obviously this " doctor " didn't bother to read about the side effects that this poison causes. She's then, since been to other doctors and it's the same thing. They seem to be obsessed with prescribing cholesterol lowering drugs. I have to hand it to the drug companies. They've done a superb job (using their fake research) to completely brain wash most of the doctors. I wonder how the human race survived for thousands of years without cholesterol drugs. Absolutely amazing.
