Guest guest
Two years ago- when I tried the Statins (Crestor and the Lipitor), I ended up with 'dead' legs and 'painful' ankles. I realized this quickly since I run regularly to keep fit and not get fatter. After consulting with my physician, I discontinued the Statin therapy and started Niaspan (slow relase Niacin). There was minimal reduction, albeit a reduction, in the cholestrol. Niapsin gave me lots of energy. Two weeks ago- a friend of mine convinced me to give another try of the STATINS. I started with Lipitor. And.. BINGO.,. ankle pain started. I started to feel funny in the head. I could not concentrate. I had to stop everything in the middle of the day and slept. Two days ago- I stopped taking Lipitor. I feel back to normal (in the head department). My ankles still hurt - but hurt less. What to do about this cholestrol? 220 - I am kind of concerned! (225 lbs- 5'9"- 55 years- Asian Male -only other medication is "walrafrin" for blood clots)
