Guest guest
Hi Tiff, It doesn't seem to effect the scoby except to make it grow faster. I think it likes the vit C or something. It also makes it fizzy faster. I just started some yesterday and it is already bubbling today. Go figure. Maybe it is because I use the bottom 1/5 of the my last brew and it probably has yeast down there. Oh yes, your scoby will be pink but other than that it works fine. Sunny > > Sunny, > If you put the hibiscus in then does it effect the scoby? I have tried adding hibiscus, lemon peel, and ginger. However I add it when I go to bottle. I put it in for 24 hrs and let it sit on the counter. Then I remove the cheesecloth pouch and put it in the fridge, ready to consume. Am I doing it right? It does taste good but I love the taste of KT. > > Is there anything else you have tried for added flavor? However you do it that added sugar content seems to remove the vinegar taste and once again makes it a very pleasant healthy drink. > zoe Hi Zoe, Can you tell us how much you use and to what size container you add it to? Many thanks, Sunny
Guest guest
Hi and EveryOne, There is a list of the benefits people have experienced with Kombucha here: http://users.bestweb.net/~om/kmi/benefits.html Of course your own experience is the most meaningful to you:-)) Go by how you feel! Peace, Love and Harmony, Bev -- In kombucha tea , Arnold <tiff6arnolds@...> wrote: > > Zoe, > Thanks for the tip. I have ben trying to figure out what benifits KT has. I am finding conflicting information. One will say " a drink loaded with Vit B's. " Another says that it has very little Vit B. Do you know what is in it and what it does for your body? Does it continuelly detox the body? There is so much to learn. At this point all I seem to know is when I drink it I FEEL GOOD. On the days I don't (which are few and far between) I feel sluggish. And one more perk it is so much fun!!! > Thanks, > > > > Re[2]: Re: Confessions of a Newbie+ Blood Pressure, Hawthorn and home made funnels! > > , I also put the hibiscus in AFTER its bottled, tis quite yummy and I figure the best of both worlds that way, Since the hibiscus ( Jamaica) is also a healthy drink with benefits of its own. > When the KT gets a bit too sour, try adding a bit of fruit juice ( not to the brew pot but to the finished brew) some folks even just add a bit of the sweet tea. Guest guest
Hi and EveryOne, On the list homepage there is a FILES section link on the left side of the page. If you click on that link you will see lots of folders with files about Kombucha in them. Click on the one that says Kombucha Threads and inside you will find a thread about Candida. There are posts from list members describing how they used Kombucha to deal with their Candida. Most of them used Kombucha more on the acidic/sour side rather than sweet. I am really battling with it right now. The sugar cravings are more that I am able to withstand. I am drinking 10 oz of KT a day. Do you think if I up the amount it would help. So far the only candida symptoms are dry skin and the sugar craving. My cravings are at the highest they have ever been. Do you have any thoughts? What were your candida symptoms? > > I am still working on using the KT for more than drinking. Can't imagine using some for cleaning right now. Way to precious. Hope to have the abundance to use it for more than drinking. Do you use the scoby, like the post suggests, or just KT for the skin? > Tiff > > > Re[4]: Re: Confessions of a Newbie+ Blood Pressure, Hawthorn and home made funnels! > > Nope, no idea whats in it and I really don't care. Guest guest
Thank you, just what I needed to hear. The intense cravings are the strong come back of the candida. Probably because of the KT(die off of the candida). I know the KT will be a big help when going back on my Candida diet. UGH did not want to do that again but......here I go Tiff Re[4]: Re: Confessions of a Newbie+ Blood Pressure, Hawthorn and home made funnels! > > Nope, no idea whats in it and I really don't care. Guest guest
LOL Funny girl. My house got cleaned by utilizing the KT vinegar( you know the stuff that gets overbrewed on occasion). Recipes? NONE Just use your KT in very creative ways and you will fall ever more in love with it. As a hair rinse, bath rinse, douche, soak your tootsies in it, etc. Soak a rag in it and wipe down your counters, cabinets, clean your windows. Im sure there are many more uses just waiting to be discovered. zoe > Hey Zoe, > Do you have recipes on how it did each of the above things? I mean > your house did not get cleaned by drinking KT? Guest guest
Hi Zoe and EveryOne, One very important for Kombucha that everyone should know about is it is helpful for burns...both the KT and the colony. You can pour KT over a burn and then cover with the Kombucha Colony. Has been used in Hospitals in Germany I read. Kombucha is definitely one of the most healing foods I have every discovered!
