Guest guest
Millie, generally for FDA considerations the age is 12. Why are you worried about parasites in your son? Parasitin is mild but effective. Typically I recommend the cleanse first, followed by the probiotics (as their actions are opposites) If your son is tending to be over weight, then I would consider Parasitin. Otherwise kombucha and especially kefir. Again kombucha may be considered along the lines of a mild purgative and antiparasitic. Parasitin/Re: KT and parasites Posted by: " Millie Krejci " moozy21@... mk4201 Mon Jan 7, 2008 10:52 am (PST) Hi Ed, Would you use Parasitin on a child? My son is 11 and weighs about 100 lb. He is on a highly probiotic diet and drinks milk kefir at least twice per day. If not Parasitin, is there another mild antiparasitic that is acceptable for children? Thank you, Millie

Guest guest
Thanks for your help Ed. I think that I will give that Parasitin a try. He is a bit overweight, though not a lot and his belly is distented esp on his " bad " days. He did test positive for amoebas and I think there may be other parasites thriving in him along with viral issues. He is having the kefir everyday and have just started a small amt of Kombucha. Thanks again, Millie <<Millie, generally for FDA considerations the age is 12. Why are you worried about parasites in your son? Parasitin is mild but effective. Guest guest
One more question, I forgot Ed: <<If your son is tending to be over weight, then I would consider Parasitin. Thanks, Millie
Guest guest
>From a Traditional Chinese Medicine point of view, when using Food as Medicine. Overweight is associated with a Spleen Deficiency (earth energy) . This is the digestion and assimilation of food. The other part is the Liver Stagnation (Wood Energy) which deals with the distribution. Kefir benefits the Spleen as it strengthens and builds up, with a high nutritional value, while Kombucha benefits the Liver in breaking through the stagnation and distributes the food (energy) through the body, with little food value. Weight gain is showing sufficient food with poor distribution. Simply piling on more food only leads to greater weight gain. Avoiding food leads to pain and disruption of body function. Where parasites may rob the Spleen of its distribution function, Parasitin (or a parasite program / purgatives) are of benefit. Kombucha aids the Liver (wood) function as it breaks the stagnation and helps distribute the energy more evenly. Kombucha is more effective at removing heavy metal toxins. (which may be residues form vaccines and prescriptions) This combination is mild yet strong and does weaken the body. Therefore the body needs to be built up after - hence kefir (milk ferments) after a cleansing program. Sauerkraut is a good transition between kombucha and kefir as sauerkraut is as moving as kombucha yet with a higher food value.
