Hello All,

I was just at walmart and they have hisbiscus leaves by the potatoes

and avocadoes in a sealed plastic bag from Jamaica. For those of you

that have a walmart the cost was under 5 bucks and 8oz worth. It says

to add 1 cup of flowers to 2 cups of water and simmer on medium heat

until water is red then drain the liquid and serve. So you could do

this in place of regular water that set up your usual kt formula

with. This is in response to those who said it lowered blood

pressure. My daughter had a coarctation of the heart fixed and her

blood pressure runs a smidge high and takes a bit longer than the

normal 10 minutes to come down. Luckily her kidneys were not too

damaged from having the condition for 6.5 years and the kidneys were

able to readjust and not keep over producing the hormone to keep her

blood pressure up. This condition is a narrowing of the aorta and the

collateral veins of the heart luckily took over but they got so

enlarged she had notches in her ribs! Now having the narrowing cut out

her body is recieving blood in veins that had not been used. For

example the main ones in her legs that you can feel if you put your

fingers on the hollow of your ankle. Which by the way is a quick way

to tell if you have this condition. This is my pet peeve with medical

world. They always took the left blood pressure which was a bit high,

had they taken the right (like the chiropractor I brought her to

thank god did) they would have seen her bp at 160! I know it is not

easy to take bp of infants but had they checked the pulse of her

extremeties it would have been very obvious because there was none in

her legs which is classic for this condition. You can do that on a

newborn! So a long story short the girls heart has been doing aerobics

for 6.5 years; for those who never get it fixed the heart wears out

athletes collapse and the lazy may live to mid forties. What was a big

clue to me looking back? She was clumsy and literally could fall over

just standing there. Which I brought up to the dr..but was dismissed.

When she was admitted for testing(after I brought her for a checkup

in response to the chiro's observation and requested a check on both

arms) they asked if she has cramps in her legs but how do you know

that if you had it all your life it is normal for you!So be sure your

dr.s check a left and right pulse on your little ones!As for adults

your arm with the highest BP should be used for a BP reading.I think

they should do a standard pulse check on extremities for a sports

physical. So anyway I was going to give her KT with hibiscus before

gymnastics to keep her bp in check. It is 115/45 now and the left is

95/45 so you can see it will never be really normal and will change

as she grows. She is all off her atenolol now!But not do to KT just

the blessing of god!But now I would like to use KT with hibiscus to

help it readjust faster to a resting rate after exercise. I will let

you know how it goes. The thing is we do not want to lower the

systolic anymore that is the bottom reading cause in the 30's could

make her dizzy. Melody in Pearland
