I wiggle messy scobys about in some KT until they look a bit more

respectable and then reintroduce them into the brew. I strain the

ooglified liquid back into the brew as well. Only the messy slimy bits

stay behind .................... until they come back again before

very long. ;-)

They are totally harmless, really, and I would not get into a stew over

them! ;-)

I'm new to kombucha brewing, but I'm finding that the color and amount

of slime on my scobies depends a lot on what kind of tea I use. The

darker the tea, the more yucky the scobies look.

I just decanted a batch that I made with a white tea, and the scobies

look less icky, and the KT has a light refreshing taste, too.

I'm sure you're correct, this is a mix 50/50 black tea and green tea.
