Caitlin,

Put your water grains in water in the refrigerator with plenty of

sugar, an egg shell (after you've boiled it)and 1/4 tsp baking soda.

They should do fine while you are gone. If you have brown sugar

that's best. Also add a tablespoon of molasses if you can. Water

kefir loves the minerals. Oh wait, you've already left :( Well,

when you want new grains, holler :)

As to weight loss, yes, I lost 50lbs between April and Sept, but

since then, although still following same diet, I'm stuck. I think

my body is just trying to adjust to the dramatic changes and I'm also

so much more active, I have to be replacing some fat with muscle

which is heavier. I haven't lost weight, but have gone down another

size. I don't know how much the weight loss had to do with getting

off the Prilosec, because I'd been on it even when I weighed a lot

less than I do now. Docs like to blame weight for everything but

they don't teach you " real " nutrition and how to eat.

It's got to be hard to stick to the diet travelling like that. I

took a 4 day trip and wasn't able to do it so I feel for you. Good

I'm happy to give anything a try! Water kefir rocks, though my

kefirlings seem to have had it - I had to leave for two

weeks unexpectedly and I dn't think they'll recover from that. I

haven't yet had a chance to try milk kefir.

Silly question: have you lost weight?

I find i do better on a low carb diet anyway, but its hard when you

keep being sent from one place to another by work! Got a lunch box,

but what's the point in buying a lot of shopping for 2 days at home

here and there?
