Guest guest
Does anyone else have a new scoby in one of those 2.8 gallon glass jars from brylane? Wow what a whopper 13 inches in diameter (aprox). I have two of them. Don
Guest guest
I got one but it takes up a lot of counter space. IT is still in the box until I can figure out where to put it. It is huge. It is molded glass as you can see from the seams on the side. I suppose it will be prettier when I get something into it. Guest guest
Yes, I got a new scoby in the brylane jar. It took a month to grow my own scoby from 2 bottles of plain GT's and filling the container half full with sweet tea. Scoby is about 1cm thick covering the widest part of the jar. Yesterday, I poured in another 2 quarts of sweet white tea. In plain newbie fashion, I've stared at it everyday with a flashlight. I'm so excited as this is my very first brew. Everybody's right, it does taste better than store bought. Maybe stronger because I brew stronger teas using quality loose leaf green, black and white teas direct from China. My parents went to China and brought back over a kilo of white tea! > > Does anyone else have a new scoby in one of those 2.8 gallon glass jars > from brylane? Guest guest
have you seen the picture? go to group main page and look in " Don's critters " It grew to about 3/8 of an inch thick in a week. Oh...be sure to pour some finished KT over the top of your scoby after you add new sweet tea. That way cuts down on possibility of mold getting a foothold.
