Guest guest
With more sugar it takes a little longer to ferment. Just wait until it tastes right.. I put 2 cups of white sugar in 2 litres of tea preparation + 20% of old preparation. I just notice when I wash the dishes because I say the 1 cup measure instead of the 1/2 cup measure. What should I do??? Should I start over or wait longer, like 20 days instead of 10 days? Thank you for you help! Ursina --------------------------------- Never miss a thing. Make your homepage. Hello Ursina, Just for reference, here are the cups to grams measures that I have carefully worked out (I am a gram person myself;-0 1 cup ........ 220g 1/2 cup ........ 120g 1/3 cup ........ 75g 1/4 cup ........ 55g The recipe I use requires about 100g per litre, give or take a bit. 1 cup would have been more than enough for 2 litres. Here is what I would do (and have done in the past: Make another 2 litres of tea (just tea, no sugar!) and once cooled, pour this and your very sweet brew together and stir. Make two 2 litre batches or one 4litre/1 gallon depending on the jars you have. The brew will not mind starting from scratch again in this way. Give the brew/brews some more starter on top if you have it or a tbsp distilled/pasteurised vinegar. My brews worked well after adjusting it after a mistake. Kombucha is a sturdy beasty! All the best with blessings .... Guest guest
Thank you for your help. Realy appreciate it. I've printed your message and will keep it close. It's funny, because today, while shopping, I found another fruit bowl just like the one I have my kombucha in at the moment. I bought thinking that I could make a second batch. Coïncidence! Don't think so. Ursina > > > Good evening everyone! > > > > I've been making kombucha now for 1 month now. Tonight, I made a big > > mistake by putting too much white sugar.
