Airplane regulations re SCOBY

Liquids in carry-on luggage is a definite no-go regardless of airline,

they make you dispose of them at airport security!

But that doesn't mean that someone couldn't take a wet scoby and use a

commercial KT from a Health food store (maybe not as good as your own KT

starter, but it would make due for a short time) or use the scoby and some

distilled vinegar. It could be worked around if you were going on vacation and

really didn't want to be without KT.

The key is carry-on vs checked luggage.

You can bring it along in your checked luggage... I guarantee if you

try bring a scoby in your carry-on bag they will get rid of it in a

heartbeat.

Thanks for the advice and information regarding taking scobies on

airplanes. The responses were VERY helpful.
