Guest guest
I've been " brewing " mine for 8 days now. It doesn't smell as " yeasty " as it did yesterday. There is some sediment on the bottom of the jar. I wouldn't say it is cloudy, but it definitely isn't clear, maybe because I made it so dark. LOL I took some pictures yesterday and will put them into the photos section. I'd appreciate any feedback. Curiosity got the better of me and I put some into a shot glass to give it a try. It isn't sweet and it doesn't taste BAD, but kind of tastes like wine or something like it. I am not fond of any type of alcohol, except mixed drinks, so I really can't judge whether or not it is doing what it should be doing. I've heard some say it tastes like champagne (don't like that hee hee) but I really have no idea what it should taste like. All I know is that it isn't sweet at all, and it has a little fizz to it in my mouth. How long does it need to ferment before it becomes beneficial to the body? It has been too many years since I brewed it and I didn't like it at all then because it tasted like cider vinegar. I don't want to let it reach that point or I just won't drink it. Perhaps I would use it on my salad... hmmmm....that's a thought. I mainly want to use it for hubby who has kidney disease, hypertension, diabetes, and congestive heart failure. He is a mess and needs whatever I can get down him to help. He changed his diet two months ago and recent blood tests were wonderful. Triglycerides and Cholesterol are well within normal limits now when they were sky high two months ago. HbA1C was at 9.9 (normal is 6.0 or less) and now it is 7.5. Creatinine was 5.0, now it is 4 5. That is what we are really watching because if it is too high will need to start dialysis. Ok, sorry to ramble, but I am really happy with the changes we've made over the last couple of months in our diet and want to do everything I can to get him back on the road to health. Thanks!
