hey everyone, Well Thaddeus got cast 5 on Jan 9 and he is sitting at 45* but with almost no rotation. i couldn't really believe the number was that high because the xray looks awesome. As you may remember Thaddeus had Double Hip Surgery In Nov and he was just cleared to do whatever he wanted YAY!. We went to Pool PT on Friday 13 and it was great. he was now walking unassisted in the pool for the first time since surgery. When we came home i could see his confidence was so much higher. he was playing and standing at his train table. then the FALL!!!!! HE was sitting on a small Kids chair and tryed to get down but fell. and fell hard :( I took him to the emergency and got in ASAP got xrays but the local hospital didnt see anything. They really dont see kids with plates in there legs so didnt know exactly what to look for. we went home. he was still in pain a few days later but opted to wait till monday to head to the childrens hospital because his Dr would be there to see him.after 5 more sets of xrays. Its official we have a broken Femur :( So sad. the Dreaded "S" word was brought up again. They said we may need to go in and remove the plate and put in a longer one because it broke right below the plate. OMG. we were admitted and booked for the OR the next day. I was so upset but happy that they could fix it. Sad the Cast was going to come off :( They next morning after lots of talk between the many Drs we see there. they had decided they will try to just set the bone in place with a cast because the risk of having the plate not attache to the small bone again was to great. Off he gos to the OR The Dr was able to Keep the Mehta cast and just add the Spica part for his leg :) ITs now sitting at about 85-90% but its hard to say what will happen because the femur is oval. The Dr is confident it will heal fine and there should be no issue. his leg may be longer now but by less then 1/8 inch. We will cut the whole cast off at the same time probably in 6-8 weeks we will see. Please pray for a speedy recovery and that we can get him back on his feet ASAP. we will do one more Cast Before summer and opted to take a break so he will have a chance to be a kid after all he has been through this year. Thanks Everyone :) Mommy To Thaddeus 3 Years old ON Jan 23!!!! EEEKSent from Samsung Mobile

GEEZ! small? set back. I think I would have just laid in the floor and cried! You are a very strong mama and Thad is the bravest boy on the planet to have such a complicated start to the year! Hoping the rest of the year is surgery free and much easier for you guys! love, Logan's mama (45 down to 9 out of cast. 2 years old, 11th cast.)
