I found a nice 5L glass container with glass lid at Big Lots last week for $10.

It's square (and my round SCOBY made a nice square one!) with a plastic spigot

that can easily be tightened. The name is Soliel. I don't use the lid for making

KT, just a rubber-banded paper towel over the generous top opening.

Carol..It really is a personal preference. I prefer glass, but there are a lot

of people brewing in ceramic jars, as long they are led free. Myself,I like to

see my scobies as they progress.. The ceramic ones keep the light out, so that

could be an advantage.. I use ordinary large glass punchbowls, do not like

spigots although it is a great idea

glass suntea type jar over one of the opaque crock type jars? Does the tea brew

better or faster in one or the other?
