Good morning,

Several months ago (probably last September / October) I received a

HUGE scoby from a friend. It has been in about eight to ten ounces of

liquid in a jar in the frig since. Due to an unexpected car accident

(and sugery) we've not been able to deal with getting to making

kombucha with it.

SO...my questions are a) should it still be ok to use? AND B) how

can one tell if it is still ok?

Any help you can give someone who will be a first-time brewer would be

greatly appreciated. We've been buying it from someone who brews it

locally - however find it is often more " vinegary " than we care for.

How can we be sure this won't happen?

IF I need a new scoby - is there anyone in southeast MI who might have

one available?

Thank you,

Sheila
