Guest guest
Hi , Yes, RA does do that to you! The meds should help you overcome the fatigue - a little. I know exactly how you feel!!!! I hope you find relief soon!!!!!! Be sure and let your doc know how you feel! Guest guest
I agree with Hvantuyl about the fatigue possibly being CFS. I have RA and really have never suffered with serious fatigue. Just the usual that comes from being a working mother.
Guest guest
People with RA often do get debilitating fatigue but I'm not convinced that it is part of RA. People with one autoimmune disease are at risk for getting another and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is an autoimmune disease like RA. I think people with RA often also have CFS but the combination is so common that the CFS is often not diagnosed. I don't know that it makes much difference because I'm not aware of any effective treatment for CFS. Good luck and God bless. ----- Original Message ----- From: amyers84 Rheumatoid Arthritis Sent: Thursday, December 11, 2003 11:27 PM Subject: I'm soooooo tired Ok I need some advice again. Guest guest
I asked my rheumatologist about this issue at my last visit. And while I agree that CFS could be a possibility, his thoughts were that fighting constant pain and (in my case at the time), never achieving a good restful sleep are exhausting to an already overwrought body. I have days when I am seriously worn out, and thankfully others where my energy levels are almost normal. I do tire more quickly even on my good days, but a short rest rather than trying to work through it help enormously. This was a tip from my GP who said that if I mistakenly thought that this was a case of mind over matter, I could do more harm to myself than good by not taking that little rest. For moms and grands, just sitting and reading a story with the little ones is sometimes time enough to recharge. Hope everyone is having a GOOD day today. Guest guest
Hi Chris I am of the same opinion as your Doctor. i feel that my fatigue comes about from the constant pain and fighting that.I also find that sitting down with the grandchildren and reading and talking for a short time recharges my batteries as does spending some time at the computer. i do have days when the computer is off limits to me as i am too sore all over to be sitting typing away, but some days it is a bit of light relief. Cheers, ette
Guest guest
Hi I agree too. As this diease has continued to ravage my body, I find that I can no longer do somethings I used to take for granted - like walking around the block. I have to look at the progress - at least I am not walking with my walker right now! My rheumatologist recommended a sleep study which I did do. However, it was more torture for me than the RA. I also have Fibromyalgia as well as a sundry of other ailments. I wish you all the best!!!!! And DO take time for yourself!!!!!!! It is amazing how much help just a little "break" will give you! Guest guest
In a word , YES! RA kicks my butt to the point where I need a nap nearly everyday. I don't sleep well at night so that is part of it too but I'm usually exhausted. You will get in a routine and you'll be ok. It just takes time.
