If any of you have been interested in using schizandra berries for your

KT, I just tried them and my husband loves the results!!! I took a sip,

too, and yes, it was delicious.

The berries are very hard, so I soaked them for a few hours in a tiny

amount of mildly warm water before adding them, drained, to my bottles

of Judy's Lemonscent KT (lemongrass, green, jasmine) that I brew 1:1:1

with black and green. Used 5 berries per 10 oz. bottle*. This second

ferment ranged from 7-9 days.

Schizandra berries can have good health benefits

(<http://www.mountainroseherbs.com/learn/schisandra.php> for one info

source) and, in our opinion, added a nice flavor and the slightest

salmon-rose tint to our pale yellow brew.

*Gayle, thank you for the Schweppes 10 oz. bottles suggestion!

Schizandra berries can be difficult to locate sometimes. I got these

from <www. mountainroseherbs.com> .

This is such a special group! Thanks to each of you for making it a

wonderful place for information, encouragement and sharing the fun!

Blessings on you and your kombucha!

Lois
