Guest guest
I hate to sew. But, I'd like to have pretty covers for the continuous brew glass crocks I have brewing KT in the kitchen. I like the glass crocks so I can see how thick the scobies are getting and see the brew's coloring, if there are deposits accumulating, strings hanging, etc. However, I've noticed visitors trying to mask their horror at what they see when I explain what those big jars are for. I envision something like an apron where you just tie it around the neck and it gracefully drapes around the crock, but not dragging onto the counter. Or maybe something with elastic that goes around the neck of the crock and drapes down around the glass body. Or, maybe an entire circle that drapes over the crock where the center is lace and allows for air flow. Need to allow access to the spigot. (Just lift?) This should keep the visitors from being shocked at what they see in glass crocks, and I can still keep an eye on the scobies by just lifting the drape. If there are enterprising and creative sewers out there, kombucha is growing . . . here's a business idea for you. I have two types of glass crocks to cover. The kind that is like the bottled water crock - 2.5 gallons - I got mine from the Happy Herbalist. And, the one from Walmart, a bit taller and narrower, made by Anchor Hocking. Or, how about something that incorporates Masuru Emoto's research that water takes on the energy of words - covers that have good words on them, like " Love " " Good Health " " Happy " If anyone starts such a line of products, please send me a link so I can pick out pretty ones.
