Guest guest
i haven't tasted my kt (i started it 2/15) mainly b/c i wanted to focus on the new baby and getting it acclimated to my house and its COLD conditions! i am assuming it is very acidic since its been so long. i still just have a film on the surface of the kt - but it is very easy to see (there are lots of opaque circles within the film on the surface but not one big baby...make sense? anyway - i want to start again with a new batch making some changes. (like filling the jar with more tea, moving to a warmer place in my kitchen) when i break the surface - will the surface film float down to meet the mother? the mother is currently hanging around the bottom of the jar. i really have no idea what this baby will be like - whether it will indeed be a disc that can be removed or whether it is just a film that will disappear. if in fact it is sorta solid and able to be removed whole...should i try and start a new batch with that one? oh - one more thing - if i have a large mother and want to put it into a smaller jar.....do i cut it or fold it or jam it in there???? thanks!!! ~lorena still very motivated to make this work!!!!!!!!!
