Guest guest
I had several jars of KT that were ready at the same time. I fermented two of them (with a funnel and unbleached coffee filter); I didn't have time to finish the third before I had to leave, as it takes a long time to get through the filter. I poured what had not gone through the filter back into the rest of the jar that I had not time to ferment yet. When I got home, intending to continue where I left off, I saw that the fermenting jar had a number of round white " things " on top of the KT. I was horrified and threw it out. Then I was even more scared because I put the scobies into a jar until I have time to begin the next batch, and so I wondered if I had contaminated all of it? Admittedly, I don't see anything scary on top of the scoby, but still, I wonder if I added anything to the jar that I shouldn't have. Now I am wondering if it wasn't mold at all but might have been little fermenting bubbles? Could there be such a thing? Ideas/suggestions please? Thank you!
