Guest guest
Our GP immediately told me to start giving my daughter Omega 3-6-9 three times per day. Only been on it a month so far so not sure of the effects yet. Guest guest
Hi Kathy, We use Omegabrite fish oil. It has a very high ratio of EPA to DHA. We are very pleased with it. Does the research you have found deal directly with fish oil and OCD? I have only been able to find research related to its effectiveness for depression. It makes sense though to use it for OCD as well because of the seratonin(sp?) connection(with depression as well as OCD). I think it is worth a try! Guest guest
My son is taking Omega-3 fish oils for kids, they are called " Children's DHA " . It's only been a week or so but they seem to be helping his OCD. He is also taking Holy Basil in a liquid form. Meds are a last resort for us and we are not evern close to trying them as there are a bunch of natural things out there to try first. I'm gonna post more info (brand names etc when I get a minute). - > > Have any of you heard about taking epa a component in fish oil for ocd? > I have been doing some research and it sounds like it is worth a try. > Kathy >
Guest guest
Hi, My 7 yr old son with OCD is also a vegetarian. He quit eating meat at age 3. I started giving him Omega-3 suppliments a few weeks ago, because Dr. Sears (Ped and author of Attachment Parenting books) recommends it for all kids - esp those who won't eat meat. I thought I was crazy, because it seemed to REALLY help my son! Much more than Inositol ever did (does). His moods are more even, he's calmer and much more readily shrugs off an OCD thought. His babysitter commented on his " great mood lately " , knowing nothing of the suppliments. I know that this isn't evidence. But, I thought I'd share my experience. > > > > Have any of you heard about taking epa a component in fish oil for > ocd? > > I have been doing some research and it sounds like it is worth a > try. > > Kathy > > >
