Guest guest
Thanks to everyone who responded to my S.O.S. First I guess I need to clarify that I am a member of this group because of my younger son who has Asperger's syndrome. My 14 yo who I was speaking of in my post has no official dx at this time. Yes, I have tried melatonin at 3 mg and all that happened was he got a headache, we lowered the dose and no luck there either. I give him benadryl at bedtime for seasonal allergies. That doesn't help either. I feel sure he is ADD and maybe some mood disorder we will soon find out and be on our way to getting him the help he needs. We have an appt. with a psych. doc. and the school is going to be working closely with us to help him with anxiety over school issues and such. I may get a 504 until we get a dx. to help with anyting that will make the school scene easier for him. We were able to get him back on schedule this weekend thanks to coffee and persistence. He is going to go back to school tomorrow and seems to actually be lifting out of the depression somewhat but I will still be dilligent to watch him closely as the most dangerous time is actually when someone starts to come out of the depression as they may finally have the strength to act on former thoughts so my guard will be up for a while indefinitely. It is good to know I have someone out there who understands. Thanks again you don't know how the responses have helped me regain my strength to continue on this journey. Blessings and best wishes. Guest guest
Sorry to be so late on this.... Try taking apples and anything containing apples or apple juice from his diet. Some of our guys have a sensitivity to the phenols in apples, and it affects them by disturbing their sleep patterns. We tried this with our son when he was in his late teens and he slept through the night for the first time in his life! Annie, who loves ya annie@... -- Save the earth.
